One of North’s connections to the arts takes the form of an icon, annually celebrated, throughout the state, and proclaimed by the South Carolina Legislature as Eartha Kitt Day.

Ms. Kitt, an international star for decades, maintained a strong connection and narrative to the place of her birth and early years. North is rightly proud of its multi-talented and very glamorous favorite daughter, who effused elegance and flaunted her unique creativity.
