Bill Carter

Bill Carter was born on a small family farm in Mississippi in 1942.  He worked the fields chopping and picking cotton and other farm duties.  He moved to and was raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Danville, Illinois, and finally Chicago, Illinois.  During his Junior year in high school at age seventeen, he left school and joined the U.S. Air Force and was trained in electronic technology.  

Discharged from the Air Force after eight years and was employed by the IBM Corporation for twenty-four years.  During his IBM career, he spent four years as a technician and twenty years in sales.  Currently a State Farm Insurance agent in Orangeburg, SC with twenty-seven years of service.

He has been married to Eugenia Wilson Carter (Rembert, SC) for fifty-six years.  They have four children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

He bought his first camera at the age of twelve. His photography philosophy is “a picture not taken is a picture you won’t have”. He has worked as a professional photographer, but now it’s only a hobby.
