Beverly J. Parler-Rice


Beverly is a General Music and Choral Educator and directs performances for K-8th grade students. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from South Carolina State University, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, and a Master’s in Education from Cambridge College, in Boston, Massachusetts. Beverly has also earned a K-12 Music/Choral Certification and an Elementary Education Certification. She is currently pursuing a Gifted and Talented Certification. Beverly has been recognized by the S.C .Music Educators Elementary Division for 20 years of service to the S.C. Elementary Honor Choir. 

In addition to teaching music, Beverly is a church organist and pianist. She joined the Board of the Orangeburg County Fine Arts Center (OCFAC) to give her time and talent to further arts education in Orangeburg County. She also supports the arts through the Columbia City Ballet. 

Beverly provides scholarships for students to attend Tamalyn’s Dance Center, in Orangeburg, where dancers are taught rhythm tap, ballet, contemporary dance, jazz and hip hop. She provides scholarships to the Mary Jane School of Dance, in Orangeburg, where dancers are taught tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop and lyrical dance. Beverly also supports the Orangeburg-Calhoun Consortium for the Arts. The Consortium offers students talented in the arts accelerated classes with well-established art educators. Beverly is the recipient of several grants for furthering the cultural education of students.
